Earl Moves To Thursday Nights
My Name is Earl and The Office move to Thursday night.
NBC has announced a flurry of lineup changes starting this January. The major adjustment will be the removal of the reality hit The Apprentice, which many say has suffered from overexposure. The Apprentice will return in the spring but during its hiatus the nine o’clock to ten spot will be filled with the surprise hit “My Name is Earl”, a sitcom about a man working to undo a lifetime of bad karma. “My Name is Earl” will be followed by “The Office”, a mockumentary style show lampooning office life.
“Joey” has been put also been put on hold in exchange for a new show called “Four Kings” which will follow “Will and Grace” at eight.
The change returns NBC to their previous Thursday night formula of four sitcoms and one drama Thursday night is an intensely competitive time slot with many network hits, most notably CBS’s crime drama CSI, which is television’s most watched show.
